I thought I would do a quick reference sketch this morning - which ended up taking longer than expected. Should really do this more. Doesn't really look like the ref too much, but a good learning experience none the less.
I'm thinking of trying to 3D this guy - started as a doodle this afternoon - Elderly robots are a bit of an odd concept, but oh well... I'll finish this off tomorrow with some other ideas.
It's been far too long to think of any legitimate excuse for not updating... other than I am a right lazy so-and-so.
I've just started working on a few things and thought I'd share the whole messy process. Nothing groundbreaking - just a few goblins and robots. Standard fare! Start easy - work towards harder stuff.
Anyway - there we go! Now I'll try to neaten these guys up a bit...
The amazing WP (Slid3) reworked my muffin man image with clever use of Zbrush and 3D wizardlike skills... I thought I might as well throw it up here, or you can see it in its original context via the Cloud9 thread - hope alls well with me linking it here! It's put a bit of pressure on me to do more work. He fills me with man-love.
Lack of updates! I've been pretty busy with a new job and all sorts – Therefore haven't had much time to devote to sitting in front of my mac to paint. Myself and Ptoing (Sven Ruthner) are having some fun texturing this low poly model by Brian Jones. This is still very much WIP but will post a couple of different skins shortly.
I just got a copy of Art Rage 2.5 and although I still haven't really got the hang of it yet, I have to say that it mimics oils a hell of a lot more nicely than painter does. Here's a quick sketch I made while trying to understand it a little more... Nice and splodgy it is.
