Progress is slow on this one, but I thought it went quite nicely with the little axe guy I'm doing - and I needed a little break from him. So - here's an early WIP.
The leftmost one has no arm, so you can see the abdomen more clearly - I will remove the helmet on this one also to show the head. A face study and more detail on weapon/helmet/arm parts will be arranged around it. I currently have no idea whether to include the horns or not.. (one horn?) they bolt on to the holes either side of the skull/helmet. Actual head is very much lower down and would be looking out through the open jaw or alternatively maybe electronically via the eyes in the skull (silly I know).
I'll probably whack some more texture in there too - but if anyone has any crits feel free to let me know about it.

Zbrush learning
So I installed 3.5 R3 - (Pixelogic Zbrush). It's great fun to play around with. I'm mainly using the claytubes tool to build up layers right now - I'm sure I should get faster at this ... but it's fun nonetheless. So go go pompadour yakuza action!

Mecha Progress 1
Here is today's progress on the mecha, very fudgy so far but it now has arms! I have to go over this once everything is done and fix the lighting. I've been avoiding thinking about the legs, but should get right onto that now.

Mecha WIP 1
I thought I'd hack out a new robot design, so here is the initial WIP. I still think this design is slightly funky (not the good kind), he'd kind of waddle in a comical way with his current back legs, so I'll most likely redo them. Plenty of room to play around still though - I'm making an exploded side view (this one) with the leg and arm parts to be layered on top and I'll probably do a few other detail shots in each other perspective.
